Papa Joes Pizza Riverside

papa joes antipastoI have to admit the only reason I found this Papa Joes Pizza in Riverside was because of Groupon. It’s tucked away in a little strip mall on Indiana between Tyler and La Sierra, so I normally would not have seen it.
The décor is pretty sparse with a few basic tables and chairs, so definitely someplace you want to get carry out or delivery. Fortunately, the money saved on furnishings is passed along to the customer in the form of bargain priced pizzas – yay!
If you go to their website, they have some amazing coupon deals like everyday all day you can get a medium cheese pizza for only $3.99 or large pizza with 1 topping for only $5.99. They also include coupons when you pick up your order.
The pizza itself was pretty good. We ordered a Hawaiian Pizza with pineapple and ham. The pizza was hot and ready when promised the crust was perfect. The dough was soft and delicious with ample sauce and a generous amount of toppings sprinkled on top.
We also had an antipasto salad which I have to say was better than expected after seeing the interior of the store (I don’t know what exactly I was expecting but I guess the décor kind of scared me). The lettuce was fresh and crisp as were the tomatoes and onions. There were three types of Italian meats along with shredded white cheese, and overall it was refreshingly delicious.
I think next time (yes, I will go back) I may try one of the large selection of sandwiches or perhaps even pasta. The website indicates they do catering, and judging by the freshness of the papa joe's pizzaingredients, I wouldn’t hesitate to price their services. Overall, it’s a good experience, but with the available coupons, it’s a great experience.
